Registration and deregistration of examinations
(Message from June 02, 2020, 8:05 am)

We would like to ask students in the summer semester not to rashly register for attendance examinations. Since we have a distribution key of 1:10 (persons/places) for the attendance exams, we and all other faculties are facing enormous challenges to provide sufficient locations for attendance exams.
IMPORTANT: Conducting attendance exams under corona conditions means an enormous effort for the faculty: administratively for the Examination Office and supervisory for the staff. Therefore, we ask you as to show solidarity. Please cancel your registration, as soon as you are sure that you are not able to participate in an examination. Even if you deregister the day before the exam, this will help to keep our workload as low as possible.
In the summer semester 2020, the participation in exams can be cancelled until 23:59 the day prior to the exam.

(Message from June 02, 2020, 8:05 am)

For module examinations that are not passed in the summer semester 2020, students will be given a further attempt at the examination. The Examination Office will cancel all failed module examination attempts this semester in the student database, no later than after the end of the summer semester 2020 (October 1, 2020). The following applies:

  • The cancellation applies exclusively to module examinations of the summer semester 2020.

  • Cancellation is always for the entire module, not for individual parts of a module.

  • Cancellation takes place regardless of how many modules were not passed.

  • Cancellation is independent of the type of module and thus also applies to compulsory modules.

The Examination Office automatically cancels the failed module examination attempts. Students do not have to contact the Examination Office for cancellation.
This regulation replaces the previous regulations that refer to failed exams in the first attempt.

Password change required
(Message from May 13, 2020, 12:10 pm, Update from May 13, 2020, 1:20 pm)

Due to the recent cyber-attack, each account, i.e. each RUB LoginID and each combined service must be given a new password as soon as possible for security reasons. Further information on this can be found on the pages of IT.SERVICES.

Please note that after changing your password, you should not log in for at least 30 minutes to ensure that the change has reached all systems.
Furthermore, after changing the password, your devices (mobile phone, tablet, laptop, etc.) will not be able to access Eduroam, RUB-Mail, VPN, Moodle, ZOOM, etc. without re-entering the password. You will be asked to re-enter your password in order to login. Please notice that you should never use the same password for different services or systems. However, if you use your RUB LoginID password for different services outside the RUB (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Gmail etc.), you should change this password as well. Moreover, you should choose a password that does not match the password for your RUB LoginID.
You will have to log in with your old password at your work place (including home office) until further notice, as this will only be synchronized after the central IT infrastructure has been rebuild.
