Curriculum Vitae

Matthias Weiss studied economics and business administration at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart. He earned his PhD in management at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar with a stay as visiting researcher at Bocconi University, Milan. After working as post-doctoral researcher at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, he served as assistant professor of management at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, where he also received his habilitation degree. Matthias Weiss was appointed Professor of Innovation Management at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in 2018. His main research interests are located at the intersection of innovation management and organizational behavior, with a particluar focus on adverse conditions for innovation, digitization, and new ventures. Matthias Weiss is editorial board member of the Journal of Product Innovation Management as well as Human Resource Management and has published his research in established international journals such as the Journal of International Business Studies, Leadership Quarterly, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Relations, and the Journal of Product Innovation Management.
